CMTPT/DN certified, a higher-level dry needling credential that reflects deep study in myofascial trigger point therapy and its clinical application.
Running Gait Research Background
Master’s research, doctoral capstone, and post-doctoral residency work all focused on running mechanics, including step-rate manipulation for return-to-run rehabilitation after surgery.
Dr. Brooke Shivers
PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. Brooke is a Physical Therapist and Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist with a passion for helping active adults continue doing the activities that they love.
Dr. Brooke got her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Florida in 2011, where she played goalkeeper for the Women’s Soccer Team. Upon graduation, she earned her Master’s Degree in Health and Human Performance from the University of Florida in 2013, where her love for running gait mechanics began.
Dr. Brooke then earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Florida in 2018, where she completed her Capstone Research on the Effects of Step-Rate Manipulation During the Return to Run Phase of Post-Operative Rehabilitation of the Lower Extremity. She then completed her Post-Doctoral Orthopedic Residency at the Brooks Rehabilitation Institute of Higher Learning, where she deepened her understanding of and passion for running gait mechanics.
In her free time, Dr. Brooke loves skateboarding, riding motocross, and running and exercising to set a good example her for her four year old daughter.
