FAQs

A few things patients ask before their first visit.

Is First Coast Running Medicine only for runners?

Not at all. Despite the name, First Coast Running Medicine works with runners, field and court athletes, lifters, and active adults of all kinds. If an orthopedic injury or movement limitation is keeping you from doing what you love running, playing soccer, lifting, pickleball, or just staying active, you're in the right place.

What makes this different from a typical PT clinic?

At most clinics, you see your doctor for a few minutes and spend the rest of your session with an aide or assistant. Here, you see Dr. Brooke, a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist for the entire visit, every time. Your care is one-on-one, personalized to your goals, and never handed off.

Do I have to stop training while I'm in PT?

The goal is always to keep you moving. Dr. Brooke will modify activity where needed to let the injury respond, but the plan is built around your training, not around removing it. Many patients continue running, lifting, or playing their sport throughout their program with appropriate adjustments.

Is this clinic cash-based? Does insurance cover any of it?

Yes, First Coast Running Medicine is a cash-based practice. There is no direct insurance billing. HSA and FSA payments are accepted, and superbills are provided upon request for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Pay-in-full and installment plan options are available.
